Encouragement

The new year is here; in fact, we are already a few days into it.  Many of us are waiting for this to be over.  We are all road weary, and yet, we have to hold steady, wearing masks and physically distancing, and it is hard.   But this is our lives: a big chunk of our lives.  Some how we have to figure out how to live it fully, even though we may be bored, lonely and fed up.

We wanted to take a moment and recognize all the hard work all of you are doing.  Being a therapist during this pandemic can be exhausting and heart numbing.  We do better in the presence of each other, and we know that physical distance, keeps us heathy and alive.  Still, we need each of us to be the best version of ourselves, finding some way to be positive, compassionate, passionate, and caring.

We at Partners in EMDR Training want to reach out, hoping our kind thoughts help you feel loving and patient with yourself and others, and keep you engaging in life to your fullest, even when we don’t know how.  Each of us matters, and is needed.

Perhaps some of these soul saving ideas may help some of you.

  • Taking a walk everyday keeps me going.  We live in North Carolina, a beautiful state, full of state parks.  If you live near a park, perhaps a walk outside in the woods, will settle your soul.

  • Cooking new and different recipes, using different spices and from around the globe adds newness.

  • I am embarrassed to admit this, but when I am really despairing, I find myself thinking that the advice I give to my clients, might help me, and I use my EMDR Resourcing skills to help settle.

We would love to know what you do, and we sure hope to see you at one of our training sessions.

Take good care, Kathleen and Liz
