Getting Started

We at Partners in EMDR Training are so excited to help clinicians learn and advance their EMDR skills.

Currently, getting started is a bit cumbersome as we are virtual so as to protect each other.

Attached is a video, showing the way we do bi-lateral interventions with our clients. Our hands are placed on different parts of the body, depending on what we are doing.

For resourcing and stabilizing, we place our hands just below our clavicles; we go slowly and use very few sets of bilateral stimulation, and often we say something like, “Tap right, left, right, left, right, left, and now stop and breath out.”

For re-processing, we place our hands on our upper arms; we go fast for long sets, and we do not talk when re-processing is occurring; at the end of each set, we do say, “Now, stop and breath out."

We always sit up close to our computers, and we watch everything our client is doing, staying attuned and present.
We hope you enjoy the video.

And we hope to see you at one of our trainings!
