Why I became an EMDR Therapist by Liz

If you are reading this post, you may be thinking of getting trained in EMDR. I wanted to share my own reasons as to why I invested in this training. Like many therapists, I was trained and I practiced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. While this has proved to be effective for many clients, I found it wasn't effective for all of them.

I will never forget a client of mine and her experience - and this is an example of what would happen so many times. She was practicing cognitive behavioral therapy and working so hard to change her self-beliefs from "unwanted;unloved" to "wanted;loved".  One day she said to me " I know it in my head, but I can't feel it in my heart!" That really grabbed me. And motivated me to go through EMDR Basic Training. Her past experiences of chronic trauma and neglect were stuck inside her, and it wasn't until I became trained in EMDR Therapy, and conducted EMDR with her,  that she had a true transformation of her self-beliefs, her behaviors, and her responses.

Becoming an EMDR Therapist has transformed my clinical practice - and it will do the same for yours. We would love to help you get there! Please check out our schedule for Basic Training, posted on our website at https://trainingemdr.com/services/
